Kerja Sama USA is a community development organization based in Berkeley California dedicated to supporting communities in Southeast Asia and beyond through cultural retention, environmental resiliency through STEAM education, arts and social practice, community development best practices and entrepreneurship.

Kerja Sama USA Founder and Executive Director Margot Lederer, began her passion with Sunda, West Java, while barely 19 years old, spending the subsequent decade studying in Indonesia and India, and working in Southeast Asian galleries and art institutions in the US and Australia. Margot has a passion for Indonesia, facility with Bahasa Indonesia language, is an accomplished performer of Sundanese dance and music, and has deep ties to her teachers and friends in the community of Bandung -West Java. Margot holds a Bachelor’s Degree in World Arts & Cultures from UCLA, a Master’s Degree in City & Regional Planning from University of California at Berkeley. She has 25 years’ experience as a Community & Business Development Professional, including expertise in land use, economic, civic-municipal and community planning, and held the position of Senior Workforce Development Advisor, USAID-Jakarta. Margot lives iin Berkeley California and continues with her passion for Indonesian performing arts.
